RCPCH partner with Sitekit to develop UK’s first ePCHR

Date: 15 July 2012

Sitekit and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) are partnering to create the UK’s first electronic Personal Child Health Record (ePCHR): the eRedbook.

The eRedbook is the digital version of the paper Personal Child Health Record, also known as ‘Red Book’. The RCPCH will work with Sitekit to create an advisory group with representation from multiple health professions to oversee the development of the eRedbook and evaluate the usability and advantages of a prototype version of an ePCHR. The RCPCH have a keen interest in how the content of a Personal Child Health Record will be made available in a digital format, and will create a set of standards to be used by suppliers.

Other partners in this project include Harlow Printing Ltd, the producers of the paper Red Book. Development of the prototype will be funded through Microsoft, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), and ‘Year Zero’, a Technology Strategy Board funded programme.
